BeMore Caring
BMC was born in the heart of Josh Handschuh, Executive Director, in the winter of 2015 while working part-time as an Uber driver. While driving the streets of Baltimore, he routinely encountered the struggle of those just trying to stay warm. Overwhelmed by what he saw, he took to Facebook and began a campaign among his friends to help those in need. What started out as an effort to help feed and clothe the homeless just for the winter turned into an outpouring of support from the local community and an increased desire to do more.
BeMoreCaring has become a staple within the inner city and Anne Arundel County. Those supported by BMC have come to depend on and look forward to their weekly visits and personal attention. Their goal is to continue to raise awareness and ensure that their new friends are not forgotten.
In addition to the relief that BMC provides to the homeless in the form of food, clothing, toiletries and spending the time to develop personal connections, they also partner with local elementary schools to provide children living in impoverished conditions much needed items such as school supplies, winter coats, undergarments, snacks. More importantly, they provide positive role models that help mentor their young minds and kindness to help heal their young hearts.Add paragraph text here.
